The Shiprock uranium disposal cell is located in the Navajo Nation in northwestern New Mexico, about 28 miles west of Farmington. The site is accessible by Uranium Boulevard that extends from U.S. Highway 666 eastward about half a mile to the Navajo Engineering and Construction Authority [NECA] facility, and the Shiprock office of the Navajo Abandoned Mine Lands [AML] program.
